Undreaming Wetiko: Breaking the Spell of the Nightmare Mind-Virus
Undreaming Wetiko builds on, amplifies and complements Levy’s previous two books on wetiko. This book starts off by investigating how the process of becoming triggered, wounded, neurotic, and/or falling into suffering can help us more understand the workings of this mind-virus in a way that transforms our struggles into opportunities for healing and awakening. In so doing, it illumines the genesis and source of wetiko—unhealed multi-generational ancestral abuse and trauma—which gets acted out, passed down and propagated through the human family lineage.
In this volume, Levy highlights one of the primary archetypes currently activated in the collective unconscious of humanity—the wounded healer/shamanic archetype—pointing out that we are all wounded healers/shamans-in-training. He introduces the inner guide—a daemon/angel—another archetypal form that lives within us as an ally in our encounter with the equally daemonic energy of wetiko. In this book Levy draws from the work of C. G. Jung, Rudolf Steiner, Henry Corbin, Wilhelm Reich and Nicolas Berdyaev.
Because wetiko can only be seen when we recognize that—just like a dream—the inner and outer worlds synchronistically reflect each other, there is a chapter in which Levy explores the nature of synchronicity. Levy also elucidates the “quantum” nature of wetiko, showing how understanding wetiko’s entangled wave/particle quantum nature helps us to come to grips with the elusive nature of the mind-virus, as well as shedding light on the quantum nature of both the world and ourselves.
